Serving as the headquarters of the Afzalpur Taluka, the town is situated approximately 655 kilometers from the state capital, Bangalore. This town shares its borders with several taluks: Aland to the north, Gulbarga to the east, Jevargi and Sindgi to the south, and Indi to the west. Additionally, it borders Akalkot Taluk of Solapur district in Maharashtra to the northwest.
